The most rewarding part of what I do is helping people feel confident. There are so many ways we can take care of our skin and feel we look beautiful, because after all ~ beauty is an emotion!
So let’s talk about organic airbrush tanning magic and if it’s for you or not? One thing that makes airbrush tanning so fun is the ease, the instant glow and softness it brings to the skin +the overall feeling of “I am a bronzed goddess” from a simple, effortless 30 minute appointment. Steph in Portland, Oregon loves to bring the glow out and she’s a master spray tanner!
It is easy to prepare your organic airbrush tan. The evening before I always exfoliate and shave. When I wake up I don’t use any moisturizer, because I want my skin to be dry, without any product residue on it.
- Thoroughly exfoliate and shave at least 12 hours prior to your spray tan. Use exfoliating gloves or a sugar based body scrub for best results. *Exfoliating your skin is very important for a flawless tan outcome.
- Avoid wearing make up, moisturizers, and deodorant to your appointment, as this acts as a barrier to the spray and stops the color from developing properly.
- Wear dark loose clothing and flip flops immediately following your treatment. Do not wear jeans or leggings. During winter months, boots with socks are encouraged, and an umbrella. Avoid tight fitting undergarments directly after application.
- Any waxing, facials, massages, manicures and pedicures etc. need to be done ideally 24 hours BEFORE your tan.
I suggest to be careful those first 2 hours after your tan and plan to take time to relax and stay away from water or anything that will rub on your skin.
- Do not shower, sweat, or get wet for minimum of 2 hours following your appointment. Each solution is different, so follow specific guidelines at the time of your session.
- During your first post-tan rinse, use warm water and NO soap or shampoo. Pat your skin dry and allow 12 hrs before you use any other products on your skin (you can use a small amount of moisturizer on your face if needed). Color will continue to develop for 12 – 24 hours after rinsing.
- Moisturize using a paraben-free lotion twice daily. Keeping moisturized will ensure an even, flawless fade.
- Avoid chlorinated Jacuzzis, hot baths, saunas, and steam rooms for a longer lasting tan.
- Avoid exercise and sweating for 24 hours.
- If you are active and sweat regularly, be advised your tan will most likely not last as long. A tan extender will help the color hold.
