Wedding Beauty Checklist
Wedding Party Prep
First let’s look at some smart daily rituals you can do in the weeks leading up to the wedding day. Start drinking more water daily, because this will ensure that you are hydrated for our time together and your skin will act at its optimal health. Don’t forget to exfoliate and use a hydrating mask each week for your smoothest texture. Incorporating a light beauty oil or serum for advanced anti-aging can brighten and even skin tone as well.
To prepare, you will plan to come to my chair with clear goals in mind. For example – bring photos of looks you have loved on yourself in the past and inspiration photos. Please remember it’s best to choose photos of people with similar skin tone, face shape, eye and hair color.
Being timely means you’ll need to be ready for your services 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time.
The schedule goes out two weeks before the wedding day and you will share it with your wedding party then. It is best to tell me if anyone in the wedding party may be arriving later in the day, so we can place them at the end of the schedule.
Skin Prep
Three days before the wedding you can stop using anything that exfoliates, any products with Retinol, Retin A, Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, etc. This will ensure that there is no peeling or dead skin interfering with the application of the makeup.
Come with freshly washed and moisturized skin – no sunscreen (your artist will apply this, and other luxury skin prep products). Take extra care to remove all traces of mascara and waterproof products & glitters before you come sit with me or the other artists on the team.
If you have any allergies to herbs, botanicals or essential oils please share this. It’s important for us to know if you are pregnant or breast feeding, so we can accommodate your additional needs.
If you are wearing contacts or have any eye sensitivities or eyelash extensions, please let your artist know before she starts your skin prep.
If you have a favorite lip color you want to wear, please have it ready and let your artist know so she can assist you in application at the end of your makeup application.
Hair Prep
Please come with your hair washed and no product in it. If you have oily hair, please wash the evening before or the morning of the wedding and apply a light heat protective product, letting the hair air dry or drying with a blow dryer with your head upside down.
If you typically need to have your hair blown out before curling or styling, please come with it smooth, otherwise let your hair have it’s natural texture.
Some specific hair lengths, textures and types take longer for the artist to complete, so if you have: textured waves/tight curls or braids, longer hair than shoulder blade length, thicker than a 2 inch ponytail or have extensions, please contact me to arrange more time for your hair styling service.
We do not allow time to blow dry within your service time, so please arrive to your scheduled service with clean and dry hair.
